We started with one kart, two toolboxes, and no plan.
By the third weekend of summer, we had three pit bikes, a second kart, and a trailer that smelled like 2-stroke and bubblegum.
The kids were obsessed. We hit three local tracks and turned every Saturday into a 12-hour ride.
At one point, we replaced a clutch behind a gas station. The trailer gate doubled as our jack ramp. One chain popped mid-heat and we rebuilt it with pliers, a flashlight, and 20 minutes to spare.
By August, we were running two classes and had the routine dialed in—load Friday night, run hard Saturday, clean parts on Sunday.
We never missed a session, thanks to an open trailer built for kart haulers that just made sense for our setup.
